Lewisville Lake Sailing Club

Welcome to the internet home of the Lake Lewisville Sailing Club. We are located at Pier 121 Marina on Lake Lewisville. The marina is just north of SH 121 on the South East corner of Lake Lewisville , Texas. LLSC's mission is to promote all forms of boat recreation, especially the tradition and camaraderie of sailing. Our club focuses on social, racing, and boat handling events.

A MESSAGE FROM THE COMMODORE

With another general election behind us, your new Board of Directors is already working on a calendar of events for the upcoming year. The holiday party is set for Saturday, December 13; so mark your calendars and plan to be there. Keep checking your emails for an evite that will provide you with additional details. This year’s party will include food, drinks and door prizes. The party also sort of marks the close of this year’s sailing season and affords us the opportunity to discuss the year’s hits and misses. To be sure, we had both.

But my overall message is one of inclusion. We are a small club that depends on the active participation of its members to survive. However, since members come and go, we could use the ongoing services of a Membership Chairperson to ensure that our message gets out to potential new members. If anyone is interested, please let me know.

Obviously, sponsors also play a significant role in our continuing existence. Indeed, without their support we wouldn’t have much of an operating budget. Take a look at the list of this year’s sponsors and you’ll see several new businesses. That’s just one indication that our club is moving forward both in terms of recognition and support.

As we plan next year’s events, we hope to build on our accomplishments, learn from our mistakes and plan events for all members, both racers and cruisers. I urge you to share your comments and suggestions with the Board and to help us build a club that is responsive to the interests of all members. If you have an idea for an event or you would like to plan, organize and run a specific event, please let us know. All ideas are welcome. But let’s not forget the reason our club exists in the first place: to promote/sponsor sailing activities on the lake and to hang around with others who share our passion. Working together, we can make this the best year ever.
