Lewisville Lake Sailing Club

Welcome to the internet home of the Lake Lewisville Sailing Club. We are located at Pier 121 Marina on Lake Lewisville. The marina is just north of SH 121 on the South East corner of Lake Lewisville , Texas. LLSC's mission is to promote all forms of boat recreation, especially the tradition and camaraderie of sailing. Our club focuses on social, racing, and boat handling events.

* Full moon cruises -- these will all begin with an informal gathering at the sail pavilion around 5:30 pm to determine who will sail with whom and to discuss raft-ups and other group activities
There will be multiple emails and evites prior to all formal events, i.e., those events that require prior preparation, coordination with outsiders or food/drink purchase. Some formal events will only take place if there is sufficient interest, so I urge you to promptly reply to the evites or emails. Informal events such as the full moon cruises will not be rescheduled regardless of turnout or weather.

A MESSAGE FROM THE COMMODORE

This year's annual meeting is in the books and the new board has been announced. Thanks to all those who helped and especially those who volunteered for the board positions. And an extra special thanks is extended to the Kendricks for hosting the meeting.

I hope you agree that the club sponsored some interesting events last year. Of course I am referring to the educational seminars we held last year. Those seemed to be fairly well received, so I've been thinking about scheduling additional seminars this coming year. Two possible ideas are an electronics seminar and the CPR session that we never had last year. But if we're to remain a vibrant, interesting club, we need input from all members, not just the board. We don't necessarily need more members; we need active members willing to volunteer time and share ideas. So don't hesitate to contact any board member with ideas for events. Better yet, why not follow the example of Frank and Katrina and volunteer to plan, organize and run an event.

In this, my last year as your commodore, my goal is twofold: to make this another fun and interesting year for all of our members; and to continue making improvements to the pavilion. Let's all work together to achieve those goals. See you out there.
